Back to blogging!

Here it is... a new and (hopefully) improved blog to help our lovely family and friends in touch with all the madness that is the movements and changes of Nick and me... because apparently there are quite a few changes going on!

First... and most exciting... WE'RE MOVING!  As of January 1st, we'll be heading back to Birmingham.  We are more than excited... more like ecstatic to the tenth power.  Which is funny in its own right because we really had no idea that we would even want to live in Birmingham again until we had moved away.  Leave it to the great state of Alabama and its giant magnet... it always pulls me back in!  Long story short... we were sniffing around at options for Nick to stay with PF Changs and get closer to our families, and the upper management developed a plan which would move a few things around and allow Nick to take over as Culinary Partner of the Birmingham location and *wha la* we're moving!

I had been house hunting with our friend and Realtor, Jenni, for a few weeks, but we weren't really coming up with anything.  And as usual... Mom came to the rescue.  She met me in Birmingham last weekend to celebrate our Christmas together early (since she'll be in Oklahoma visiting my sister for the holiday) and while together she and I did some more home searching, and we found THE ONE!  Nick met us on Sunday to write up the paperwork and we bought ourselves a house!

The house is perfect... has an amazing kitchen for Nick and a man-cave for him too!  And I really wanted to have 2 guest rooms so everyone would have a place when they came to visit, and I got that too!

Now we play the hurry-up-and-wait game with the mortgage company to get everything together, but with any luck, we'll close around the second week in January.  So exciting!
