I'm still job hunting, but my wonderful angels (aka friends, past co-workers, buddies, etc) are all keeping an eye out for possible opportunities for me. I know that with lots of prayers God will lead me to the right thing. I guess I'm counting my blessings that I will have a little bit of time once we land in Birmingham to unpack and decorate the house. My Mother (aka my GOD SEND!) will be coming to help me un-pack everything when I get into town on Saturday, Jan. 14th. I can't wait to see her and have her help out!
Besides packing, I've been busy planning decor for the new house. We've collected several great things for our new bedroom design... here's a photo of our inspiration:
We are painting our Master Bedroom walls in a color called Midnight Fog... it's a gorgeous deep blue with a hint of grey. We also plan to add this white molding border around our bed and night tables and the interior color will be a Sea Salt Blue. We'll also paint the Master Bathroom this Sea Salt Blue color, which is about 4 shades (or so) lighter than the darker blue. Nick found some fabulous white thick curtains for the bedroom, and I am hunting for a small elegant chandelier to hang in the bathroom. So excited! Nick is in love with this new TV show called "Revenge" and it takes place in the Hamptons, so now he's in love with the Hamptons look which has inspired this blue and white classic bedroom.
As with every bed I've ever had, we'll have white bedding, which I found at the Pottery Barn After-Christmas White Sale (SCORE!) and the shams and sheets will be embroidered with our monogram (or course) in a similar shade of the dark blue. I'm thinking something like this since it is simple and (as demanding by Nick) not to "frilly":

I dragged Mr. Dees to TJMaxx the other day and we found another great score with Tahari towels in the exact shade of dark blue and a set in pure white. Those will also be embroidered with our monogram to match the bedding. I'm so excited! I certainly would save a ton of money if I had my own embroidery machine... hint to the hubs! I'm still on the hunt for the perfect lamps and mirror or decor piece for over the bed, but I have to wait for the night tables to come in to put them on. I will be ordering one of the two of these from Thomasville to match our bedroom suite... I might even buy one of each so it's not so "matchy matchy":

We have some fantastic photos that we've taken over the years with natural shades of blue that we'll have printed and framed to hang over our dresser. I love using these images that we've captured on our own... they all bring back fabulous memories! Here are a couple:

I will eventually move on to decorating other rooms, but lately all I can think about is this bedroom! I guess because this is the first time as a married couple (we've been married nearly 5 years!) that Nick and I have really had the chance to decorate the way we want... we've been living like nomads for so long that it's so fun to finally make some decisions about our room!
I'll keep photos and updates coming... but for now I'm off to pack some more! Wishing everyone a safe and fantastic New Year!!!
